Job Title: District Office Staff Part-time
Reports To: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
Provides key administrative and financial support for the Silt Water Conservancy District and Farmers Irrigation Company. Responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, budget tracking, board administration, personnel records, and regulatory compliance under the direction of the SWCD board/Executive Director.
Core Responsibilities
- Financial & Bookkeeping: Manage accounts payable/receivable, deposits, account reconciliations, payroll, benefits, and purchasing using QuickBooks.
- Budget & Audit Support: Assist in preparing and monitoring annual budgets, mill levy certifications, and financial documentation for annual audits
- Board Administration: Prepare agendas, meeting packets, legal notices, and minutes while ensuring open meeting law compliance. May be asked to serve as Board Secretary and/or Treasurer for SWCD and/or FICO.
- Grant & Contract Management: Track grant deliverables, monitor contract compliance, and coordinate with staff to submit timely reimbursement requests.
- Operations & Communication: Respond to water user and shareholder inquiries, maintain water rights and share records, and liaison with government agencies and consultants.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Background in financial management and bookkeeping (special district or public agency experience preferred).
- Education: Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license required; Notary Public certification required (or obtained within six months of hire).
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks; willingness to learn specialized tools such as STORM water records software.
